{"id":4066,"date":"2016-02-01T12:09:16","date_gmt":"2016-02-01T12:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.readandplay.co.il\/en\/?page_id=4066"},"modified":"2017-02-15T09:04:49","modified_gmt":"2017-02-15T09:04:49","slug":"applications","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.readandplay.co.il\/en\/applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The &quot;Step one in Leteracy through Music Sounds2ReadTM &quot; Learning Program:Sounds2Read:<\/h3>\n<p>The Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup> method is applied in Israel in over ten groups of children attending kindergarten, as an annual musical enrichment program preparing the children for first reading.<\/p>\n<h3>The Sounds2ReadTM Fundamentals:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Teacher<\/strong>&#8211; personal attention is given to each and every child, in small learning groups, by a qualified<br \/>\nmusic teacher who has passed special training in the <strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0Method and its teaching strategies.<br \/>\n<strong>\u2022 The book<\/strong> &#8211; a weekly practice with &quot;House of Sounds\u201d TM an especially designed\/formatted booklet that<br \/>\naccompanies the child throughout the program. With this booklet the child reads and writes musical notes,<br \/>\nplays tunes\/songs, and glues prizes which she\/he has won in accordance with her\/his level of progress.<br \/>\nThe child relates to the booklet as a tool from which she\/he derives great pleasure.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>The musical<\/strong> instrument &#8211; through playing the instrument (xylophone and electronic organ), the child<br \/>\nbrings into practice her\/his ability to read notes, which she\/he acquired during the <strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0program.<br \/>\nThe Child expresses her\/himself and instantly enjoys the outcome of her\/his learning and progress.<br \/>\nPlaying the instrument is a creative way of learning that builds the child's self-confidence and self-esteem,<br \/>\nboth of which are highly important for inducing the child's motivation for learning and for reading.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>The Computer<\/strong> Game &#8211; &quot;House of Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup>(developed by Amihud Carmon, 2005), the computer game the children play individually (i.e., every child on a separate computer), utilizes the computer's multimedia features for the purpose of combining learning with enjoyment. Sight, hearing, and touch (playing the instrument) are those senses which, together with the computer's immediate feedback, make a<br \/>\nmulti-sensory experience that increases the child's motivation to keep on making an effort and study.<br \/>\nWhen the child receives a virtual prize on the computer, she\/he gets a colorful sticker of that prize &#8211; which<br \/>\nshe\/he then glues in her\/his booklet, and this is repeated until all tasks are finished.<br \/>\nThese fundamentals, in addition to the small learning groups, the learning strategies, and the very use of<br \/>\nmusic in the\u00a0<strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0method &#8211; help the child reach a high readiness level for reading in kindergarten<br \/>\nAnd first grade. A child who has attended the T.M.NTM enrichment program will acquire reading in a much<br \/>\neasier and friendlier fashion than his\/her peers, and reading difficulties which often arise shall be spared. A<br \/>\nbook about this method is now in preparation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Implementaion Methods:<\/h3>\n<p>The method can also be implemented in various other ways, some of which are already developed and applied in Israel:<br \/>\n<strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup><\/strong> Eduware \u2013 \u201cHouse of SoundsTM&quot; is an interactive computer game that enables to learn the<br \/>\n<strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup><\/strong> method individually, in accordance with the child\u2019s personal pace, while playing a variety of<br \/>\nsongs, practice games, and accumulating prizes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup> Toy Kit<\/strong> &#8211; Including a board and card game, a xylophone, and a game book with tunes that enables pla\u00a0<strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>ying individually or by pairs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup><\/strong> \u00a0<strong>Internet game<\/strong> &#8211; This is a learn-and-practice\u00a0Sounds2Read<strong><sup>TM<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0game that enables the child<br \/>\nto write musical notes and tunes and then play them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong><strong>Electronic organ<\/strong> &#8211; A five octave musical keyboard which enables to play and practice<br \/>\naccording to an accompanying music book.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup> <\/strong> <strong>computer keyboard<\/strong> and software &#8211; A unique P.C compatible keyboard that allows playing<br \/>\ntunes and games using a<strong> Sounds2ReadTM<\/strong> oriented software.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup> schoo<\/strong>l &#8211; Enrichment programs which include frontal teaching by a teacher in small groups,<br \/>\nTogether with the usage of a computer game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sounds2Read<sup>TM<\/sup><\/strong> \u00a0<strong>Television game\/program<\/strong> &#8211; An innovative concept for teaching children to play music,<br \/>\nusing an array of lessons and televised games which accompany an illustrated frame story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The &quot;Step one in Leteracy through Music Sounds2ReadTM &quot; Learning Program:Sounds2Read: The Sounds2ReadTM method is applied in Israel in over ten groups of children attending kindergarten, as an annual musical enrichment program preparing the children for first reading.
