Company's Profile, method's developers and vision:
       Company Profile

Read and Play Ltd. was established in 2002, aiming to find solutions that would help children develop and
cope with the first reading assignment. Read and Play's inventiveness and originality, are based on a
unique technique, called the T.M.NTM Method.

T.M.NTM - Toy Musical Notes is a brand new method based on musical notes that are easy to understand,
remember and implement (comprised of only 8 signs). T.M.NTM enables to teach young children to read and
play musical notes, as a first written language. It is an efficient tool in helping children develop basic reading        skills and learn how to read their mother tongue. This brand new technique (patent pending) is founded on
an academic research led by reading education experts and professors.

The T.M.NTM method can be implemented in many ways, some of which we have already developed and
applied in Israel: comuter game; Internet game; toys etc. Our first commercial application is an interactive
educational software (eduware) – "The house of Sounds" – which includes lessons, games, and a library of
children’s songs and tunes. It provides children with a creative and enjoyable tool for improving their
     success in reading.

       The founder of the method

Dr. Yehudit Carmon, an expert on literacy education for young children and a musician (MMus, Violin
Academy Graduate), analyzed over a period of several years the reading skills that a child needs to acquire
in order to succeed in first reading. The results of the studies she performed, and her vast experience,
brought her to the conclusion, that the connection between music and verbal reading is most beneficial. At
early-nineties, Dr Carmon developed and improved the T.M.NTM musical notation system, in order to adjust
the script especially for young children. The method was tried successfully in schools and kindergartens and
was proven in research to be highly efficient in developing and improving the reading skills of first grade
     children.

       Vision and Goals

Read and Play's vision is to change the existing method of learning to read, throughout the world, so that
children will be assisted by music as an intermediate language on their way to acquiring verbal reading.
Through the T.M.NTM method children intuitively acquire reading skills as well as music skills. We believe
that music is a beloved international language breaking all barriers. It enriches many basic skills and
faculties in addition to reading capabilities: social and emotional skills, cognitive processes, mathematical
cognition, musicality, verbal abilities, etc. We believe that with the assistance of music, children can grow to
love and enjoy reading from a young age.
We expect to play a leading role in the skill development industry, as well as in the reading education
     industry.

Childrens/Parents/Teachers/Experts write their opinions about the method:
     What do the children say?

I really enjoy playing and inventing rythems on my computer
     Udi, 5.5 years old (Boy)

Every morning I rush into the kindergarden to play the
xylophone with T.M.N, this is the one thing I enjoy the
     most in the kindergarden

     Stav, 4.5 years old (Girl)
       What do the parents say?

Tia (aged 6) immensely enjoyed playing "The House of Sounds" and even made up her own names for
the notes she learned. I was very surprised at her concentration and attention, that were inspired by the
game, and at the quick way in which she learned to play with this special method. Within a few times she was
able to play tunes by herself and recognize them.
     Judy Lowenthal, Tel-Aviv

I don't understand what is going on here, I am teaching the first class for 10 years, and I've never saw
something like what is going on in this class, that everything I teach today - the whole class grasps the
learning and tomorrow I can proceed teaching forward.
Zipy, first class tutor at Kiryat Ono, which recieved children who studied T.M.N in their
     kindergarden

       What do the teachers say?

The T.M.NTM program, which accompanied us for a long time in the form of individual work with a computer,
has contributed to the children both personally and educationally. The method helped them acquire reading
skills, auditory memory, precision and reading speed. The children, who attended the program twice a week,
were assisted by this method and enjoyed it very much. When the music lessons ended the children asked
whether they could continue learning to play. We thank "Read and Play" very much for running this unique
program and for enriching the staff of "Yad- Rachel" with it.
Oded Brama, Headmaster of "yad- Rachel", Lod.

On behalf of the "Yad- Beyad" society and on behalf of the children of "Warm House" Jaffo,
I wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your co-operation and for running the weekly lesson
activities based on the "The House of Sounds" software, which helped the children in developing reading
abilities. The game brought great fun and enjoyment to the children.
Shelly Choshen, Chair-person of the "Yad-Beyad" society, Israel.

       What do the experts say?

The T.M.NTM method, specially suited for children, enables the child to acquire basic reading skills quickly,
efficiently and enjoyably. As an expert in the field of literacy who has closely followed each stage of this
research and its results, I have come to the conclusion, that the T.M.NTM method can considerably help
children worldwide in the complicated and difficult assignment of learning to read.
I sincerely believe that this method will be a breakthrough in constructing a foundation that will support and
promote instruction, and it is most suitable for use in the educational system as a reading enrichment
     method.
Prof. Aryeh Wohl, Head of the literacy department and coordinator of the Masters degree in
Talpiot College, and former head of the literacy department in the Center for Educational
Technology (CET) and the Open University.

I was impressed by Dr. Yehudit Carmon’s research program and by its contents, which can help us in our
work with children in kindergartens. The research indisputably proves the direct influence that learning to
read music in the kindergarten has on reading acquirement in first grade. There is no doubt, that this
research program will help us, the educational personnel, in our everyday educational work.
Dr. S. Yael, National supervisor of music education, Ministry of Education, Israel.

The study's results shows wonderful results. The study was taken from varied populations and all of them
were found good clear outputs. Your method should be distributed in additional places: kindergardens and
     elementary schools - first grade.
Dr. S. Yehiel, inspector of county, the Ministry of Education.
